emlyon business school is increasing its focus on sport in order to assert the school's leadership in this area. More than 3,000 emlyon students participate in sporting activities. The Elite Athletes programs are attended by 350 students, 32 of whom are eligible to qualify for the Paris Olympics and Paralympics including 19 who have already qualified.
A choice of over 45 different sports is offered by emlyon business school
Students can choose from 45 different disciplines available on or near their campus or within easy access by public transport. This wide range of activities for students on all programs contributes to their wellbeing and hones the skills they will need for a successful career. Sport fosters “soft skills”, personal attributes that boost employability such as adaptability, a team spirit, overachievement, discipline, perseverance, self-esteem and stress management.
emlyon students have the possibility to validate European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits for sport during their studies and sport is a mandatory module on some courses.
emlyon business school is top of the business school sports ranking
emlyon business school tops the 2024 Business Cool Business School sports ranking. The school's twelve teams participating in competitive sport can boast a particularly impressive record this year with two victories in the French women's handball and padel championships and two vice-championship titles in the French Schools' Championship in women's volleyball and men's handball. In addition, the school was ranked in the top three in seven out of twelve other disciplines (football, rugby, volleyball, basketball, tennis, futsal etc.).
emlyon business school won the French Business School Championship for the 5th time in a row! The general ranking takes into account participation in the French Business Schools National Cup, a key event in which all business schools compete. emlyon is also the only business school to qualify in the national challenge which pits France's top 20 universities and schools against each other.
emlyon offers specialist programs for elite athletes:
Four specific programs - from undergraduate through to vocational retraining - are adapted to the constraints of elite athletes. The admission exams and course content are identical for all students. However, accommodations are made to the curriculum so that they can reconcile their sporting and academic aspirations.

- Champions seeking a change of career such as Thierry Dusautoir, Sébastien Chabal, Frédéric Michalack, Ali Traoré, Axel Toupane, Paoline Salagnac, Ingrid Tanqueray, Yoann Bagot, Jérôme Cousin and Ronny Turiaf.
